Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with clients to design and implement solutions for data and AI challenges utilizing the Databricks platform.

• Take ownership of architecture, lead design choices, and execute end-to-end systems across data engineering, AI, and application development.

• Drive customer technical initiatives by delivering production-quality systems, reference architectures, custom applications, data ingestion, and ML/AI model integrations.

• Assist strategic customers through the complete design, build, and deployment process of big data and AI applications.

• Define technical delivery tasks in collaboration with engagement managers and customer feedback.

• Advise customers on architecture and design while facilitating the successful evaluation and adoption of Databricks.

• Ensure that solutions are secure, scalable, and meet customer requirements while adhering to Databricks best practices.

• Work closely with Databricks technical teams, Project Managers, Architects, and customer teams to deliver components for technical engagements.

• Offer product and implementation insights and help address engagement-specific product and support challenges.

• Integrate with customer teams and engage stakeholders ranging from technical contributors to executives.

• Contribute to the development of accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that can be scaled across accounts and shape the Databricks product roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.

• Proficient in coding with Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.

• Familiar with two or more major cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP), with deep expertise in at least one.

• Extensive experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and understanding of Spark runtime internals.

• Knowledgeable in CI/CD practices for production deployments.

• Working familiarity with MLOps, ML/AI models, and AI APIs.

• Proven experience in designing and deploying efficient production end-to-end data architectures and applications that integrate data pipelines, ML/AI models, and user interfaces.

• Experience in technical project delivery, including managing scope, timelines, and measurable results.

• Capable of translating complex concepts into practical solutions.

• Strong documentation and whiteboarding abilities.

• Background in working with enterprise clients and resolving conflicts among diverse stakeholders.

• Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to explore technologies that support Databricks-based solution deployment and integration.

• Open to traveling to customer sites 20% of the time.

• Relevant Databricks Certification.
