This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create challenging single-turn prompts related to chemistry and chemical safety, categorized as benign, dual-use, or adversarial.
• Assess model responses against established policy standards.
• Evaluate whether responses appropriately addressed technical inquiries.
• Draft reference answers that explain correct responses and the underlying technical reasoning.
• Differentiate between standard professional inquiries and those seeking dangerous or illegal information.
• Provide written justifications that can be understood by non-specialists.
• Engage in reading and writing about misuse scenarios in the field for extended durations.
• Proven background in conducting casework to identify substances and precursors, defending conclusions in reports or testimonies.
• Relevant expertise in controlled substance casework within a forensic laboratory, including identification and quantification.
• Experience in clandestine laboratory responses, precursor identification, and scene chemistry.
• Knowledge in forensic toxicology, encompassing postmortem or human performance casework.
• Experience in monitoring trends related to seized drugs and precursors or conducting intelligence analysis.
• Ability to provide expert testimony and write reports on chemical casework.
• Strong written reasoning that is accessible to non-specialists.
• Prior experience in technical writing, published research, or serving as an expert witness is highly desirable.

• Experience in red-teaming is preferred.
