This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Perform site inspections to ascertain the cause, origin, and extent of structural damage.

• Examine structural damage resulting from storms, natural disasters, fires/explosions, construction/design defects, accidents, foundation movement, and various other causes.

• Assess failure modes and contributing factors.

• Formulate clear, well-supported conclusions.

• Generate high-quality technical reports, documentation, and deliverables.

• Provide prompt and professional updates to clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

• Actively close communication gaps and manage expectations.

• Operate independently from a home office while utilizing internal experts and resources.

• Establish long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and partners.

• Facilitate issue resolution with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Ensure deliverables meet or exceed customer expectations and relevant standards.

• Contribute ideas for enhancing processes, tools, and customer outcomes.

• Assist others in navigating change and embracing improvements.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of forensic engineering experience is required; 5–10 years is preferred.

• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team of experts.

• Strong technical writing capabilities; able to produce effective reports.

• Excellent verbal communication skills and effective in face-to-face interactions.

• Outstanding customer service abilities.

• Proficient with computers, phones, cameras, and necessary equipment.

• Possession of a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Florida, or eligibility for reciprocity.

• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for sponsorship or restrictions.

• Ability to conduct fieldwork, including inspections in confined spaces and on roofs.

• Capable of lifting ladders and operating required equipment.

• Willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationally by vehicle or plane; some overnight travel may be necessary.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a closely related field from an ABET-accredited university is required.

• Expert Witness experience is preferred.
