This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Perform site assessments to identify the cause, origin, and scope of structural damage.

• Examine damage resulting from storms, natural disasters, fires/explosions, construction/design flaws, accidents, foundation movement, and other factors.

• Assess failure modes and their contributing factors.

• Formulate clear, well-supported conclusions.

• Generate technical reports, documentation, and deliverables.

• Offer timely, professional updates to clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

• Proactively address communication gaps and manage expectations.

• Operate independently from a home office while utilizing internal experts and resources.

• Foster long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and partners.

• Drive issues to resolution with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Ensure that deliverables meet or exceed customer expectations and relevant standards.

• Contribute innovative ideas to enhance processes, tools, and customer outcomes.

• Assist others in navigating change and embracing improvements.

• Undertake necessary local, regional, and national travel, including some overnight trips.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in forensic engineering is preferred.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a cross-functional team of experts.

• Strong technical writing abilities.

• Proficiency in creating effective technical reports.

• Excellent verbal communication skills.

• Commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

• Technical proficiency with computers, phones, cameras, and necessary equipment.

• Experience as an Expert Witness is preferred.

• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or restrictions.

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Florida, or eligibility through reciprocity.

• Ability to perform fieldwork, including inspections in confined spaces and on roofs.

• Ability to carry ladders and operate necessary equipment.

• Willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationally by vehicle or plane.

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a closely related field from an ABET-accredited university is required.

• A Master of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred.
