This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Lead and manage teams of Commercial Lighting Technicians
• Oversee and execute commercial lighting retrofits, upgrades, and installations
• Allocate daily tasks and ensure crew efficiency
• Review project plans, scope of work, fixture counts, site details, and project specifications
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with project standards
• Maintain daily communication with the Superintendent and Project Manager regarding progress, challenges, material requirements, and scheduling
• Anticipate field conditions or project issues before they escalate
• Monitor project advancements and assist in achieving production objectives
• Train and mentor Lighting Technicians
• Conduct quality-control inspections of finished work
• Complete necessary project documentation, photographs, and closeout details
• Ensure accountability for company tools, equipment, and materials
• Uphold company safety standards and enforce proper PPE usage
• Work from ladders, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other elevated work platforms
• Maintain a tidy, organized, and professional jobsite
• Interact with store managers, customers, and other jobsite personnel
• Ensure the crew represents Reliable Electric and Lighting in a professional manner
• 5–10 years of experience in commercial lighting retrofits
• Prior experience as a Foreman, Lead Technician, Crew Leader, Electrical Foreman, or in a similar leadership role
• Proven experience leading teams on commercial lighting retrofit, relamping, LED conversion, fixture replacement, or lighting installation projects
• Strong understanding of commercial lighting fixtures, lamps, LED drivers, ballasts, controls, and associated components
• Capability to read and interpret project drawings, scopes of work, fixture schedules, site documentation, and installation requirements
• Experience in active commercial or retail settings
• Ability to organize, lead, and inspire a crew while ensuring productivity, quality, and adherence to schedule
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication abilities
• Experience operating scissor lifts and boom lifts
• Ability to safely operate or achieve certification for necessary aerial equipment
• Strong dedication to safety in the workplace, proper PPE usage, and adherence to company safety protocols
• Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record
• Willingness and capability to travel extensively across the United States and stay away from home for prolonged periods
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including days, nights, and occasional weekends
• Physical ability to work at heights and lift/carry tools, fixtures, equipment, and materials
• Proficiency in using a smartphone or tablet for project communication, documentation, and reporting
• Reliable attendance and ability to report to assigned projects as scheduled
• Capability to work independently while following direction from the Superintendent and Project Management
• Must successfully complete the required pre-employment screening process
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is an advantage
• Aerial lift and boom lift certifications are beneficial
• Electrical or lighting troubleshooting experience is a plus
• Travel arrangements managed by Reliable Electric and Lighting
• $30 per day per diem in line with company policy
