This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Perform inspections associated with the production, transportation, storage, and sale of food products.

• Enforce the regulations that govern food manufacturing, storage, transportation, and sales practices.

• Verify that food facilities are equipped to ensure a safe and sanitary food supply.

• Guarantee that food is accurately labeled for consumers through precise labeling statements.

• Travel overnight across North Carolina as required, particularly during the initial training period.

• Occasionally work after hours in response to emergencies.

• Operate from a home-based or field position within the designated territory.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in biology, food science, home economics, or a related field from an accredited institution; or a comparable combination of education and experience.

• Capability to learn, implement, and articulate State or Federal laws and regulations related to food manufacturing, storage, distribution, and sales.

• Ability to acquire knowledge of techniques and understand the equipment utilized in the production, processing, storage, and sale of food items.

• Proficiency in learning and applying food sanitation principles.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Must either reside in a county within the territory, live in North Carolina within 20 miles or 30 minutes of a territory county, or be willing to relocate at personal expense to a territory county within four months of employment.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Completion of a background check is necessary to be commissioned as an Officer with the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services for contract work with the Food & Drug Administration.
