This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Prepare Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) for planning submissions across all flood zones

• Assist in the development of drainage strategies and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS)

• Conduct hydraulic modelling and drainage calculations utilizing industry-standard software

• Perform site visits and surveys

• Communicate with clients, planning authorities, Lead Local Flood Authorities, and statutory consultees

• Provide periodic assistance to the Geo-Environmental team on projects that involve water, ground conditions, and land contamination, including preliminary land quality assessments

• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders

• Contribute to ongoing improvement, compliance, and quality standards

• Enhance technical knowledge on active projects with guidance from experienced engineers

• Advance towards becoming a proficient, independent consultant


⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in a relevant field, preferably Civil Engineering (Geography, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, or similar are also acceptable)

• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities

• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail

• A self-driven mindset and eagerness to learn rapidly

• Proficiency in MicroDrainage, Flow+, InfoDrainage, or comparable drainage design and hydraulic modelling software

• Skills in GIS and/or AutoCAD

• Familiarity with UK planning policies related to flood risk (NPPF, PPG)

• Any previous experience in flood risk, hydrology, or drainage, including academic projects or internships

• A fundamental understanding of the interactions between water, ground conditions, and land contamination, or a willingness to develop this understanding

• A high degree of attention to detail and accountability

• A cooperative approach and dedication to performing tasks correctly
