Licensed Mental Health Counselor – LMHC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Deliver clinical expertise and therapeutic services through BetterHelp’s online therapy platform.

• Facilitate scheduled live sessions and interact via journal entries, audio/video messages, clinical worksheets, and goal setting/tracking.

• Build a complete clinical caseload through regular referrals.

• Concentrate on clinical practice while BetterHelp manages client acquisition, billing, support, and operational tasks.

• Maintain autonomy over clinical judgments and therapeutic methods.

• Collaborate with clients who align with specific expertise, demographics, or presenting issues.

• Offer therapy through secure, encrypted phone, video, and text-based communication.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience (mandatory).

• Master’s degree in a relevant field (mandatory).

• Possession of a full independent clinical license, such as LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, Psychologist, or PsyD.

• Fully licensed by a State Board to provide therapy independently and without supervision.

• Experience in counseling adults, couples, and/or teenagers.

• A private and professional setting for conducting therapy sessions.

• Strong written communication skills.

• Professional liability insurance coverage.

• Reliable internet access.

• Must currently reside in the United States.

• Not an intern or a provider needing supervision.

• Substance abuse counselors, school counselors, registered nurses, career counselors, Christian counselors, and business coaches are not eligible unless they hold an additional mental health counselor license.
