Financial Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take charge of financial reporting, commercial strategy, controls, multi-entity consolidations, and compliance for Legend London’s international operations.

• Spearhead the transition from Xero to a comprehensive ERP system.

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish finance system requirements.

• Propel automation, standardization, and the adoption of AI throughout the finance department.

• Oversee the monthly closing process for all entities.

• Generate monthly management accounts, board reports, KPI dashboards, and commercial analyses.

• Ensure that balance sheet accounts are reconciled and adequately supported.

• Develop and sustain the financial control environment.

• Lead the preparation for annual audits and manage relationships with external auditors.

• Maintain compliance with accounting policies and standards.

• Direct monthly consolidations for the businesses in the UK, UAE, Netherlands, and US.

• Manage intercompany accounting, reconciliations, eliminations, foreign currency accounting, and multi-currency reporting.

• Coordinate statutory accounts and relationships with international tax advisors.

• Ensure completion of VAT, corporation tax, and other statutory filings across different jurisdictions.

• Analyze performance, profitability, and margins to provide commercial insights.

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.

• Build financial models and conduct scenario analyses.

• Identify opportunities for profitability and cash generation enhancements.

• Collaborate with operational leaders and scrutinize spending.

• Monitor and enhance cash flow and working capital.

• Manage cash forecasting and liquidity planning.

• Oversee inventory accounting and stock reconciliations.

• Support credit control and supplier payment processes.

• Build, develop, and lead a scalable finance function.

• Recruit, develop team members, and mentor the overseas bookkeeper.

⛳️ Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.

• Over 5 years of post-qualification experience as a Financial Controller or in a comparable senior finance position.

• Background in eCommerce, retail, consumer goods, FMCG, or another rapidly growing multi-entity business.

• Strong technical accounting expertise.

• Demonstrated experience in preparing consolidated management accounts for international, multi-currency group structures.

• Proven track record in enhancing financial reporting, controls, and processes.

• Experience in managing audits, statutory reporting, and tax compliance.

• Strong commercial awareness and business-partnering capabilities.

• Ability to confidently influence both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

• Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with large data set analysis.

• Experience in managing and developing finance team members.
