Financial Analyst, Financial Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Assist in forecasts, annual budgets, long-term plans, workflow management, and analytics using Prophix.

• Administer and provide support for Prophix models, dimensions, hierarchies, business rules, workflows, user security, reports, dashboards, and data mappings.

• Collaborate with FP&A, Accounting, operational leaders, IT, and external support resources to convert business requirements into scalable system solutions.

• Evaluate planning models and suggest enhancements to improve accuracy, usability, efficiency, and analytical value.

• Oversee forecasting and budgeting calendars, submissions, reviews, consolidations, and reporting.

• Create reports and analyses that clarify forecast and budget results, drivers, risks, opportunities, and impacts on financial objectives.

• Align long-term strategy with operational plans and budgets for the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.

• Maintain and verify integrations between Prophix and ERP, general ledger, project accounting, payroll, and other systems.

• Reconcile system outputs with source data and establish validation controls.

• Address issues related to data, calculations, reporting, workflows, security, and integrations.

• Assess system changes and their impacts on financial, operational, and reporting aspects.

• Develop test plans, conduct system and user acceptance testing, document results, and validate changes.

• Maintain system documentation and uphold governance and change-control practices.

• Train and assist users with budgeting, forecasting, workflows, reporting, and Prophix processes.

• Identify opportunities for automation and enhance FP&A platform capabilities.

• Communicate with stakeholders regarding financial performance, planning activities, enhancements, and project status.

• Provide ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and system project support.

• Adhere to Seneca policies and perform additional assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, information systems, business analytics, or a related field.

• A minimum of five years of experience in corporate finance, FP&A, financial systems, or a related area.

• At least three years of hands-on experience in configuring, administering, or supporting an enterprise FP&A or performance management platform.

• Experience in participating in an FP&A system implementation, redesign, enhancement, or significant model-development initiative is highly preferred.

• Experience supporting FP&A in a federal government contracting environment is preferred.

• Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint, including financial and project-accounting data structures, is advantageous.

• Practical experience in administering, configuring, or supporting an enterprise FP&A or performance management platform such as Prophix, Workday Adaptive Planning, Oracle EPM, or Planful; Prophix experience is strongly preferred.

• Understanding of financial planning system architecture and interdependencies, including models, dimensions, hierarchies, business rules, workflows, security roles, reports, dashboards, and data integrations.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, data analysis, and reconciliation of large datasets.

• Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.

• Capability to operate a computer and office productivity machinery.

• Ability to perform repetitive motion associated with extensive computer use.
