Senior Finance Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design and uphold advanced financial models for real estate investments, acquisitions, and portfolio evaluations.

• Generate financial reports, conduct variance analyses, and create executive dashboards to facilitate strategic decision-making.

• Partner with Operations, Sourcing, and other cross-functional teams to assess performance metrics and pinpoint optimization possibilities.

• Oversee monthly and quarterly financial closing activities, including budget-versus-actual assessments and forecasting revisions.

• Perform market research and competitive analysis to support client presentations and internal strategic projects.

• Engage in process improvement efforts that enhance financial operations.

• Assist senior leadership with insights that shape investment strategies, operational efficiency, and client solutions.

• Act as a reliable business partner to leadership, offering operational recommendations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.

• 6 years of progressive experience in financial analysis.

• Advanced Excel skills, including complex financial modeling, pivot tables, and sophisticated formulas.

• Familiarity with financial software systems (E-1, Bottomline, Peoplesoft).

• Demonstrated success in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis within finance or real estate contexts.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in presenting financial data to senior executives.

• Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in dynamic environments.

• Capability to advocate for the use of AI and automation to improve processes and efficiency.

• Skill in developing and enhancing processes with documentation, governance, and a focus on continuous improvement.

• Ability to foster accountability within both onshore and offshore teams through delegation, training, performance management, and effective communication.

• Competence in providing leadership with timely updates, operational insights, and recommendations for process enhancements.

• Strong critical thinking, strategic problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Must have authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

• Preferred: MBA, CPA, CFA, or other relevant professional certifications.

• Preferred: Prior experience in commercial real estate or real estate investment management.

• Preferred: Proficiency in advanced analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

• Preferred: Understanding of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting standards related to real estate.

• Preferred: Experience with debt and equity financing structures.

• Preferred: Knowledge of property management systems and lease administration processes.

• Preferred: Project management experience leading cross-functional initiatives and process enhancements.
