Financial Accountant – German-speaking

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all accounting information by recording, reviewing, and posting business transactions.

• Prepare journal entries as part of the monthly closing process.

• Conduct monthly account reconciliations.

• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.

• Review, record, and process vendor invoices.

• Secure necessary approvals and arrange payments.

• Maintain vendor master data and tax-related documentation.

• Ensure adherence to VAT regulations.

• Assist in tracking payments to external service providers and contractors.

• Support internal and external audit processes.

• Collaborate with auditors during interim and year-end audits.

• Provide necessary documentation and supporting evidence.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and relevant accounting standards, especially IFRS.

• Contribute to various ad hoc finance projects.

• Provide assistance and cover for team members as required.

• Actively engage with international teams and stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in German, both written and spoken.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in financial accounting or a similar role.

• Background in SaaS, software, technology, or other international companies.

• Practical experience with month-end closing processes.

• Familiarity with accounts payable.

• Experience with account reconciliations and general ledger accounting.

• Solid understanding of IFRS accounting standards.

• Knowledge of European entities and VAT procedures.

• Experience in an international or remote working environment.

• Familiarity with HubSpot, Ramp, or similar financial and operational systems.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Independent, structured, and detail-oriented work approach.

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
