Financial Accountant – German-Speaking

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Ensure all accounting data is complete and accurate by recording, reviewing, and posting business transactions.

• Prepare journal entries as a part of the monthly closing process.

• Conduct monthly account reconciliations.

• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.

• Review, record, and process incoming invoices.

• Obtain necessary approvals and prepare payments.

• Maintain vendor master data and tax-related documentation.

• Ensure adherence to VAT requirements.

• Assist in tracking payments to external service providers and contractors.

• Support internal and external audits.

• Collaborate with auditors during interim and year-end audit processes.

• Provide relevant documentation and supporting evidence as needed.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and applicable accounting standards, especially IFRS.

• Participate in ad hoc finance projects.

• Provide coverage and support to team members when necessary.

• Actively engage with international teams and stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in German, both written and spoken.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in financial accounting or a similar accounting role.

• Experience in SaaS, software, technology, or other international firms.

• Hands-on experience with month-end closing processes.

• Background in accounts payable.

• Familiarity with account reconciliations and general ledger accounting.

• Strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards.

• Experience with European entities and VAT processes.

• Experience working in an international or remote setting.

• Proficiency with HubSpot, Ramp, or similar financial and operational systems.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Independent, structured, and detail-oriented work approach.

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
