Finance Transformation Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the finance aspects of the ERP program (collaborating with system integrators and/or ERP vendors) from Business Requirements Document (BRD) through design choices, data migration, parallel runs, and cutover — ensuring alignment with external auditors on post-cutover reporting.

• Serve as Airalo’s main liaison to the system integrator and other delivery partners, maintaining quality, pace, and commercial results.

• Guide design decisions throughout the finance value chain (including revenue recognition such as deferred revenue, breakage, rewards; COGS and inventory accounting; intercompany transactions; multi-entity consolidation; period-end closing; treasury; tax; accounts payable).

• Manage the transformation roadmap and governance (SteerCo), oversee stakeholders and dependencies, and promote adoption and training to ensure lasting change.

• Develop and automate essential finance processes (Order to Cash, Purchase to Pay, Record to Report, Financial Planning & Analysis), reduce manual tasks, and accelerate the month-end closing process.

• Lead the data migration strategy, which encompasses chart of accounts design, master data ownership, and cutover balances.

• Spearhead the design of the future-state finance operating model across group entities, including roles, controls, segregation of duties, and approval workflows.

• Create standardized dashboards and driver-based forecasting (aiming for a ±5% accuracy target), establishing a single source of truth.

• Integrate finance into the company’s fundamental decision-making forums.

• Define and monitor the efficiency, accuracy, and cost benefits resulting from the transformation.

• Report progress to leadership and the Audit & Risk Committee.

• Incorporate AI and automation opportunities into the design (including close acceleration, anomaly detection, reconciliations, and reporting) rather than considering them after the fact.

⛳️ Requirements

• More than 10 years of experience in finance, with a proven track record of leading substantial finance transformations.

• Experienced in overseeing an ERP implementation from start to finish as the finance lead (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).

• Extensive experience in process re-engineering and automation across Order to Cash, Purchase to Pay, Record to Report, and Financial Planning & Analysis.

• Strong background in controllership and controls (SOX / SOX-lite, IT General Controls, audit readiness).

• Program and change management expertise; capable of managing a multi-workstream roadmap with both external advisors and internal stakeholders.

• Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and/or a background in Big 4 / consulting transformations.

• Ability to influence and build credibility with senior stakeholders both within and outside the finance function.

• **Preferred experience**

• Previous exposure to telecom, MVNO, SaaS, marketplace, or other usage-based/partner-settlement revenue models.

• Experience integrating AI / automation into finance processes (closing, controls, reconciliations, reporting).

• Familiarity with contemporary data/BI tools (such as dbt, BigQuery, BI dashboards) and finance data architecture.

• Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency, multi-jurisdiction situations; M&A integration is a plus.
