Finance Systems Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the client's SaaS platform and its functionalities.

• Grasp the Accounts Payable processes of customers and their adaptation to the platform.

• Familiarize yourself with the financial systems utilized by customers.

• Design and execute customer implementations effectively.

• Prepare and configure customized pre-sales demonstrations.

• Conduct demonstrations and provide support for technical scoping as discussions with customers advance.

• Collaborate with the Onboarding team regarding setup and design requirements for SmartSync or premium integrations, such as Sage Intacct and Business Central.

• Develop implementation plans and ensure proper execution.

• Assist existing customers with migrations.

• Serve as the technical lead on complex implementations, helping customers realign through post-installation troubleshooting.

• Maintain an updated knowledge base and create or revise training and support articles.

• Define and/or develop plugins.

• Work collaboratively across Sales, Onboarding, and Support teams with various stakeholders throughout the business.

• Strong IT proficiency in areas such as servers, SaaS, SQL, Windows, vibe coding, and APIs.

• Understanding of finance team operations.

• Exceptional communication skills, especially in listening to and interpreting customer needs while conveying information confidently and knowledgeably.

• Innovative mindset with robust problem-solving abilities and a willingness to think creatively.

• Capacity to work effectively within a team environment.

• Significant experience in managing and maintaining databases utilizing SQL and Azure, including Azure infrastructure.

• Strong familiarity with Office 365, encompassing OneDrive and SharePoint.

• Experience managing Windows-based environments, including services and scheduled tasks.

• Reasonable understanding of finance and its implications on technical systems, with the capacity to communicate effectively with finance teams.

• Experience working with APIs, especially in the context of integrating business-critical applications.

• Strong analytical skills coupled with a proactive attitude towards researching and resolving technical issues.

• 5–7+ years of relevant experience in Consulting, Customer Success, or Technical Support.

• Familiarity with finance systems such as Sage 50, Sage 200, Sage Intacct, and Microsoft Business Central.

• Experience in consulting and project delivery, balancing business needs with technical implementation, alongside finance team experience combined with SQL and server knowledge, or experience in finance software companies like Sage or Xero.
