This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee all local accounting functions, which include month-end closing, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, and internal control requirements.
• Collaborate with corporate accounting teams to facilitate consolidated reporting and audit requests.
• Maintain precise books and records while ensuring the timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Manage comprehensive billing operations, encompassing invoice generation, compliance with contractual billing, work-in-process management, billing-cycle efficiency, and revenue realization.
• Handle accounts receivable, collections, cash application, DSO, aging receivables, dispute management, working capital metrics, process enhancements, and cash-flow optimization.
• Direct and oversee accounts payable activities, including vendor onboarding, invoice processing, payment approvals, cash disbursement, and vendor relationship management.
• Act as the main point of contact with corporate FP&A and coordinate KPI and monthly reporting.
• Ensure tax compliance for the company.
• Coordinate with external professional service firms.
• Support one of the recently acquired businesses of the company.
• Travel as needed for significant team meetings, approximately 5% of the time.
• Effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 8–10 years of accounting experience.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting responsibilities and changes in the scope of work.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficient in MS Excel.
• QuickBooks experience is preferred.
• CPA/MBA credentials are preferred.
• Experience in Billing, Treasury, and Data Analytics is highly desired.
• At least 2 years of experience in a managerial role.
• Experience in the Insurance Services industry is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Experience with Big 4 or other public accounting firms.
• Background in working for a global professional services firm (up to 1,000 employees).
• Must be capable of performing mathematical computations for 80% of the workday.
• Must be able to review transactional details for 50% of daily duties.
• Must be available for on-call duties or work on weekends or evenings.
• Minimal travel requirements.
