Finance Manager – Controllership Function

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee all local accounting functions, including the month-end closing process, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.

• Ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP, corporate accounting policies, and internal control standards.

• Collaborate with corporate accounting teams to facilitate consolidated reporting and fulfill audit requests.

• Maintain precise books and records while ensuring the timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.

• Supervise the entire billing process, encompassing invoice creation, compliance with contractual billing, management of work-in-process, billing-cycle efficiency, and revenue realization.

• Oversee accounts receivable, collections, and cash application activities, focusing on DSO, aging receivables, collection performance, dispute resolution, working capital metrics, process enhancements, and cash flow optimization.

• Lead and manage accounts payable functions, including vendor onboarding, invoice processing, payment approvals, cash disbursements, and vendor relationship management.

• Act as the main point of contact with corporate FP&A and coordinate KPI and monthly reporting.

• Ensure compliance with tax-related issues affecting the company.

• Collaborate with external professional service firms.

• Support one of the company's newly acquired entities.

• Effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

• Travel as needed for important team meetings, approximately 5% of the time.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

• 8-10 years of accounting experience.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing responsibilities and scope of work.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong proficiency in MS Excel.

• A collaborative mindset with a desire to work within a mission-driven team.

• QuickBooks experience is preferred.

• CPA or MBA preferred.

• Experience in Billing, Treasury, and Data Analytics is highly desired.

• At least 2 years of experience in a managerial position.

• Experience in the Insurance Services industry is a plus.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365.

• Experience with Big 4 or other public accounting firms.

• Background in a global professional services firm (up to 1,000 employees).

• Demonstrate warmth, genuineness, and concern for others.

• Must be capable of performing mathematical computations for 80% of the working day.

• Must be able to review transactional details for 50% of daily responsibilities.

• Availability for on-call duties or weekend and night work may be required.

• Minimal travel is required.
