Finance Manager – Controllership Function

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Oversee all local accounting functions, encompassing month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.

• Ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, and internal control standards.

• Collaborate with corporate accounting teams to facilitate consolidated reporting and address audit inquiries.

• Maintain precise financial records and guarantee the timely execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.

• Supervise comprehensive billing operations, including invoice creation, contractual billing compliance, work-in-process management, billing-cycle enhancements, and revenue recognition.

• Manage accounts receivable, collections, and cash application processes, focusing on DSO, aging receivables, collection efficiency, dispute resolution, and working capital metrics.

• Lead and oversee accounts payable functions, including vendor onboarding, invoice processing, payment approvals, cash disbursements, and vendor relationship management.

• Act as the main point of contact with corporate FP&A and coordinate KPI and monthly reporting activities.

• Ensure the organization remains compliant with tax-related issues.

• Engage with external professional service providers.

• Provide support for a newly acquired business.

• Travel as required for important team meetings, approximately 5% of the time.

• Effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

• 8–10 years of experience in the accounting field.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting responsibilities and changes in the scope of work.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Proficient knowledge of MS Excel.

• Collaborative mindset with a desire to work within a mission-driven team.

• QuickBooks experience is preferred.

• CPA/MBA is preferred.

• Experience in Billing, Treasury, and Data Analytics is highly preferred.

• Minimum of 2 years in a managerial position.

• Experience in the Insurance Services industry is a plus.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365.

• Experience with Big 4 or other public accounting firms.

• Background in a global professional services organization.

• Must be capable of performing mathematical computations for 80% of the workday.

• Must be able to review transactional details for 50% of day-to-day responsibilities.

• Must be available for on-call duties or to work weekends or nights as necessary.
