Finance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage client-facing financial dashboards as well as interactive web-based financial models.

• Design scenario sliders, drill-down tables, and Excel export features for reliable finance tools.

• Create compact, version-controlled AI automations, including workflows to convert billing spreadsheets into QuickBooks invoices with approval checkpoints.

• Write database queries for reporting purposes and link them to live client accounting data.

• Operate independently using the tools and procedures provided by the VP of Technology.

• Analyze discrepancies, differentiate between genuine variances and incomparable figures, and document resolutions.

• Educate accountants and operators on how to create their own tools.

• Conduct virtual meetings with client stakeholders to gather requirements and develop solutions directly.

• Collaborate with experts in accounting, finance, engineering, and operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of combined experience in accounting or finance and software or systems development.

• Strong expertise in accounting, including financial statements, month-end closings, receivables and payables, reconciliations, and general ledger operations.

• Capability to write and maintain production code and database queries.

• Proficient in investigating undocumented or inaccurately documented systems and developing solutions based on their actual behavior.

• Experience in building AI tools.

• Familiarity with at least one accounting system in detail, such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or Dynamics.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Comfortable working autonomously in a fully remote setting.

• A dedicated workspace along with reliable, secure, high-speed internet access.

• Strong commitment to confidentiality.

• Must be located in the United States.

• CPA or CMA certification preferred, but not mandatory.

• SQL proficiency preferred, but not mandatory.

• Base salary ranging from $150,000 - $180,000, depending on experience.
