Finance Data Platform Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Collect, evaluate, and document business and functional requirements for finance data projects.

• Create user stories, business rules, process diagrams, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.

• Assist initiatives related to commissions, banking, general ledger (GL), financial reporting, attribution, reconciliations, policy administration, and enterprise finance data.

• Collaborate closely with Data Engineers and Data Architects to clarify business needs and validate implemented solutions.

• Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and functional testing.

• Organize and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect tracking, and production validation.

• Aid in troubleshooting production issues, performing functional analysis, and validating the resolution of issues.

• Support activities related to data mapping, reference data, hierarchies, metadata, and business glossary.

• Keep functional documentation, process documentation, and operational procedures up to date.

• Engage in platform enhancements, process improvements, and release activities.

• Work together with Data Governance teams to ensure data quality, metadata accuracy, and business definitions are upheld.

• Utilize SQL for analyzing, validating, and troubleshooting enterprise finance data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of experience in supporting enterprise finance applications, finance data platforms, or financial systems.

• Proficient in areas such as commissions, banking, general ledger (GL), financial reporting, attribution, reconciliations, or similar finance processes.

• Demonstrated experience in gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.

• Experienced in supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production implementations.

• Strong SQL skills for data analysis and validation tasks.

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Capable of effective collaboration with both business and technical teams.

• Familiarity with Financial Data Management (FDM) or similar enterprise finance platforms.

• Experience with Databricks, Azure, SQL Server, or modern cloud data platforms.

• Knowledge of enterprise data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and data integration.

• Background in Agile delivery methodologies.

• Experience in the financial services or insurance sector.
