Finance Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee essential finance operations including invoicing, expenses, payments, and financial administration.

• Ensure the maintenance of precise and comprehensive financial records, supporting documentation, trackers, and systems.

• Adhere to established finance processes and controls consistently.

• Detect missing, incorrect, or unusual information and proactively address discrepancies.

• Keep clear records and audit trails that support financial control.

• Manage employee expenses and corporate card transactions.

• Confirm that transactions are accompanied by appropriate receipts, coding, VAT treatment, and supporting information.

• Reconcile expense and corporate card data with financial records.

• Assist in the accurate allocation of costs throughout the business.

• Aid colleagues in effectively utilizing expense systems and adhering to expense processes and policies.

• Ensure timely and accurate client invoicing.

• Maintain information that supports cash-flow visibility.

• Assist in the reconciliation of WIP, FIA, and other cash-flow data.

• Provide financial insights that support oversight of working capital and liquidity.

• Complete and assist with reconciliations in accordance with agreed month-end timelines.

• Validate financial data prior to reporting.

• Ensure all records related to expenses, freelancers, invoicing, and other operational finance functions are complete.

• Investigate discrepancies and independently resolve routine issues.

• Support VAT and other periodic finance audits.

• Assist colleagues and new team members in navigating finance processes and systems.

• Maintain guidance and documentation for processes.

• Propose practical enhancements to recurring finance challenges and workflows.

• Share knowledge to diminish reliance on specific individuals.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in finance operations, accounts payable/receivable, or bookkeeping roles.

• Actively pursuing or holding a relevant qualification (AAT, ACCA, or CIMA).

• Practical experience with Xero, Expensify, and other comparable accounting systems.

• Proficient in Excel.

• Comfortable reconciling data from multiple sources.

• Strong and clear communication skills, including the ability to explain finance processes to colleagues without a finance background.
