This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.
β’ Deliver support to designated sites, including data centers, Points of Presence (POPs), and physical site services.
β’ Collaborate with network teams and local vendors for installation, repair, and maintenance tasks.
β’ Implement physical-layer rack and stack configurations.
β’ Uphold quality standards at assigned data centers and remote POPs.
β’ Conduct physical installation, repair, maintenance, and testing operations.
β’ Execute card additions or replacements, software upgrades, and related testing.
β’ Suggest process enhancements that impact network asset quality and operational effectiveness.
β’ Provide site survey support for OSP and ISP projects, large space and power initiatives, and equipment deployments.
β’ Carry out site audits and resolve data discrepancies in collaboration with Network Surveillance and other teams.
β’ Oversee local construction vendors to ensure adherence to MOPs, standards, quality, and cleanliness.
β’ Coordinate with LEC and other technicians to assist with installation, repair, and maintenance.
β’ Conduct site surveys for network builds, augmentations, or decommissioning.
β’ Organize site access, equipment staging, and related activities.
β’ Mentor junior team members as needed.
β’ Travel as necessary.
β’ Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school along with 5+ years of related experience and/or training; or a comparable combination of education and experience.
β’ Experience with data center and POP infrastructure, including OSP, ISP, interfacility cabling, fiber and copper distribution, AC/DC power systems, environmental controls, and relay rack/cabinet/cage construction.
β’ Proficiency in installing and maintaining telecom/network equipment such as DWDMs, backbone and management routers, IP switches, and optical and digital infrastructure.
β’ In-depth knowledge of splicing and working within manhole, vault, or handhole environments.
β’ Familiarity with telecommunications testing equipment, including microscopes, source and power meters, and OTDRs; experience in testing SONET and Ethernet bandwidths.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of telecommunications testing standards and procedures, including length, wire-mapping, bit error rate, power, delay, loss, reflectance, and dispersion.
β’ Experience with state and local regulatory standards, procedures, and permitting requirements.
β’ Capability to work effectively with LEC and telecom service provider technicians, building landlords, electricians, construction operators, and non-technical end users.
β’ Ability to operate independently, diagnose issues, and take suitable actions with minimal supervision.
β’ Proficiency with spreadsheets, workflow and project management applications, and administrative software programs.
β’ Experience utilizing a Tier-1 ITSM platform.
β’ Capacity to perform office-related tasks that involve prolonged sitting or standing, navigate within an office setting, use a computer, and communicate effectively.
β’ Some roles may necessitate occasional repetitive motions or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
