Field Support Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Provide technical assistance, customer support, and remote programming for fire alarm systems.

• Organize travel to local offices to support customer sites facing challenges.

• Deliver remote assistance through team communication channels and Microsoft Teams.

• Reach out to local offices to acquire files necessary for constructing comprehensive Simplex Fire Alarm System programs.

• Collaborate with the Design Team to secure CSV files and the latest submitted and approved drawings.

• Analyze and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.

• Understand and apply relevant NFPA standards based on building and construction types, hazard classifications, and architectural features.

• Work alongside district contracting teams on customer contracts, program timelines, and installation crew requirements.

• Share standardized processes with the Remote Programming Team in a Microsoft Teams virtual setting.

• Participate in weekly Microsoft Teams meetings addressing backlog and urgent project needs.

• Upload finalized projects to SharePoint and provide links to local offices for downloading to fire alarm panels.

• Be on hand during program uploads to assist local technicians with any programming challenges.

• Foster team spirit and cultivate professional relationships with local offices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experienced Simplex Fire Alarm System Technician/Programmer.

• Capability to work remotely.

• Willingness to travel 50% of the time.

• A minimum of 10+ years of experience as a Simplex Fire Alarm Technician/Programmer.

• Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and Simplex programming tools.

• Skilled in interpreting and applying relevant NFPA standards.

• Competent in reading and understanding construction documents.

• NICET Level III certification is preferred.
