Field Service Technician II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Conduct testing, maintenance, and repair of low- and medium-voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control, and various electrical equipment both in the shop and in the field.

• Execute Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests on low- and medium-voltage breakers.

• Perform mechanical work and repairs on breakers and switches, which includes disassembly, refurbishment, and parts replacement.

• Wire circuit breakers effectively.

• Utilize and interpret test equipment accurately.

• Read schematics and wiring diagrams proficiently.

• Troubleshoot circuit breaker control systems.

• Read and plot time-current curves accurately.

• Test transformers, including Power Factor and Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR).

• Maintain precise and consistent documentation using Power DB.

• Work with electrical tools and socket sets competently.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-5 years of relevant experience in commercial and industrial maintenance.

• At least 2 years of experience in testing industrial or commercial power systems.

• Ability to follow written or oral instructions and manage issues involving multiple concrete variables.

• Proficient in working with probability, statistical inference, geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

• Capability to read company manuals, reports, workplace rules, and procedures.

• Ability to communicate with poise and confidence, utilizing proper English.

• Capacity to perform regular fieldwork in both indoor and outdoor environments.

• A valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• High School Diploma.

• An Associate’s degree from an accredited 2-year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC), or an Electrical Engineering Degree from an ABET-accredited institution, or comparable military experience and training is preferred.
