Field Service Technician II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Travel to customer locations across the continental United States, mainly in the Central region, to service Alma Lasers equipment.

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.

• Offer Level 2 technical troubleshooting assistance to customers via phone.

• Identify and resolve issues with malfunctioning medical instruments or equipment.

• Repair equipment following diagnosis.

• Interpret diagrams and schematics to carry out full board replacements when necessary.

• Test machines post-repair to verify proper functioning.

• Maintain and finalize all required repair documentation.

• Deliver Level 2 support over the phone to both customers and internal staff.

• Comply with company safety and health regulations.

• Schedule appointments for preventative maintenance, service visits, and installations.

• Collaborate closely with the Client Relations team to address customer concerns.

• Conduct device calibration with designated test equipment, such as power meters.

• Mentor and support other field service personnel.

• Create troubleshooting documentation for the Client Relations team.

• Assist in mentoring colleagues and other departments as necessary.

• Travel 75–90% of the time, including East and West Coasts as business needs dictate.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate degree in electrical or electronic repair, or equivalent experience.

• Over 4 years of Field Service experience.

• Preferred experience with component-level repairs.

• Familiarity with ISO 13485 certification is preferred.

• A positive attitude and a proactive approach to job duties and the Alma team.

• Ability to read diagrams and schematics effectively.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (MS Office, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

• Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce is preferred.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Capability to multitask efficiently.

• Documentation proving eligibility to work in the United States will be required.

• Ability to perform low-voltage electrical repairs using tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other hand tools.

• Competence in device calibration using specified test equipment, such as power meters.

• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

• Capacity to meet physical demands which include occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
