Field Service Technician I – Evening Shift

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.

📋 Description

• Address daily service repair requirements and enhance customer satisfaction.

• Install, repair, and maintain equipment on-site.

• Provide necessary training to customers.

• Record inspections, maintenance, and repair tasks, ensuring timely submission of documentation.

• Manage the order, installation, and return of parts; oversee repair-parts cycle time.

• Review logs for unresolved issues and create formal reports for customers.

• Engage in service sales opportunities and revenue initiatives.

• Maintain and calibrate tools and testing equipment.

• Evaluate equipment performance using field-support data and suggest enhancements.

• Offer technical assistance to customers and service technicians.

• Participate in site evaluations, pilot service projects, and meetings.

• Support the company’s Trace and X-Ray technologies.

• Ensure clear oral and written communication in business interactions.

• Develop relationships with senior Field Service Engineers and Product Managers.

• Manage and reduce costs effectively.

• Travel daily to customer sites within the Chicago Metro area, including ORD airport.

• Adhere to company health, safety, and environmental policies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate’s Degree or relevant trade certification in electrical, electronic, or mechanical fields, or military training in electrical, mechanical, or electronics.

• Equivalent experience of 1–3 years in a related electrical or mechanical field service role is acceptable.

• At least 1–3 years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic systems and equipment in the field.

• Proficient in computer use, with competency in all MS Office Suite applications.

• Ability to learn specialized software programs.

• Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

• Excellent customer focus and teamwork skills.

• Must be responsive to customer concerns.

• Willingness and ability to travel on short notice.

• SSI access and TSA vetting; successful federal background investigation may be required.

• U.S. Personal Security Clearance might be necessary.

• Capacity to lift/carry 80 lbs.

• Capability to push/pull 200 lbs.

• Ability to move/manipulate equipment up to 1,000 lbs with appropriate assistance.

• Aptitude to work safely in extreme conditions and around hazardous industrial equipment.

• Must comply with relevant U.S. export control and security regulations.
