Field Service Technician, HVAC – Data Center

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Travel to client locations for the start-up, commissioning, safe troubleshooting, and repair of Data Center equipment.

• Conduct factory start-up, commissioning, warranty, and billable service on Munters Data Center equipment and systems.

• Safeguard and maintain Munters equipment and property.

• Respond quickly to service requests from customers and management.

• Deliver customer training on Munters equipment.

• Prepare detailed field service reports and provide technical feedback on equipment.

• Coordinate with other trades and services during on-site start-up commissioning.

• Offer immediate responses to urgent and routine customer requirements as a member of the Field Service team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience and profound knowledge in the Mechanical field, particularly in HVAC.

• Regular travel is required, up to 90%, throughout the USA via plane and car.

• In-depth understanding of electrical troubleshooting, with the ability to diagnose electrical issues effectively and document data.

• Familiarity with all safety protocols and requirements, including Arc flash, lockout/tagout, and PPE related to electrical safety.

• Extensive knowledge in refrigeration; capable of independently pressure testing, evacuating, and charging systems.

• Skills in troubleshooting and diagnosing refrigeration issues.

• Proficiency in brazing and soldering.

• Possession of a universal refrigeration certification.

• Comprehensive understanding of Controls, including troubleshooting, programming, or downloading to control systems.

• Knowledge of PLCs and the ability to access, modify, and communicate with PLCs using a computer.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Self-driven with the capacity to work independently.

• Effective communication skills with site personnel, Sales PM, Service Manager, and Technical Support staff.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check, as applicable.

• Ability to wear necessary personal protective equipment.

• Willingness to travel and be away from home for several days at a time.

• Openness to take on-call duties as necessary.

• Flexibility to occasionally work weekends and/or holidays.

• Readiness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Capability and willingness to work at heights of 6 feet or more above ground.

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently or constantly.

• Proficiency in climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
