Field Service Technician – HVAC, Data Center

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Travel to client locations for the start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of Data Center equipment.

• Execute factory start-up, commissioning, warranty services, and billable services on Munters Data Center equipment and systems.

• Safeguard and maintain Munters equipment and property.

• Respond swiftly to service requests from customers and management.

• Deliver training sessions for customers on the operation of Munters equipment.

• Generate comprehensive field service reports and provide technical feedback regarding equipment.

• Oversee projects on-site during start-up commissioning and coordinate with other trades and services.

• Offer immediate responses to both urgent and routine customer requirements as a member of the Field Service team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience and a deep understanding of the mechanical field, particularly HVAC.

• Frequent travel is necessary, potentially up to 90%, throughout the USA via plane and car.

• In-depth knowledge of electrical troubleshooting with the ability to diagnose electrical problems and document data accurately.

• Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations, including Arc flash and lockout/tagout procedures.

• Capability to use personal protective equipment (PPE) related to electrical safety.

• Extensive knowledge of refrigeration processes, including pressure testing, evacuation, charging, troubleshooting, and diagnosis.

• Proficiency in brazing and soldering techniques.

• Possession of a universal refrigeration certification.

• Strong understanding of controls, including troubleshooting, programming, downloading, and PLC platforms.

• Ability to connect to PLCs using a computer, communicate effectively, and implement changes.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Self-driven individual capable of working independently.

• Proficient in communicating with site personnel, Sales PM, Service Manager, and Technical Support staff.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; trade school education is preferred.

• Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks and lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.

• Willingness to travel and be away from home for extended periods.

• Openness to take on-call responsibilities.

• Flexibility to occasionally work on weekends and holidays.

• Readiness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Willingness and ability to work at heights of six feet or more.

• State Licensed Master HVAC mechanic certification is a plus.

• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check, if applicable.
