Field Service Technician, HVAC – Data Center

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Travel to customer locations to initiate, commission, safely troubleshoot, and repair Data Center equipment.

• Execute factory start-up, commissioning, warranty, and billable service for Munters Data Center equipment and systems.

• Safeguard and maintain Munters equipment and property.

• Quickly respond to service requests from customers and management.

• Deliver customer training on Munters equipment.

• Provide technical insights through detailed field service reports.

• Oversee projects on-site during start-up commissioning and coordinate with other trades and services.

• Ensure immediate response to both urgent and non-urgent customer needs as a member of the Field Service team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience with comprehensive knowledge in the Mechanical field, particularly in HVAC.

• Willingness to travel frequently, up to 90%, across the USA by plane and car.

• In-depth understanding of electrical troubleshooting, capable of diagnosing electrical issues proficiently and documenting data.

• Familiarity with all safety protocols and training in Arc flash, lockout/tagout, and other safety requirements.

• Knowledge and ability to use all personal protective equipment related to electrical safety.

• Extensive expertise in refrigeration, including pressure testing, evacuation, system charging, and refrigeration troubleshooting and diagnosis.

• Skillful in brazing and soldering techniques.

• Possession of a universal refrigeration certification.

• Profound knowledge of controls, including troubleshooting, programming, or downloading to control systems.

• Understanding of PLCs with the capability to access, adjust, and communicate with PLCs using a computer.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Self-driven, with the capability to work independently.

• Ability to effectively communicate with site personnel, Sales PM, Service Manager, and Technical Support staff.

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Trade School education is preferred.

• Capability to travel and be away from home for extended periods.

• Openness to taking on-call responsibilities as needed.

• Willingness to occasionally work on weekends and/or holidays.

• Readiness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Ability and willingness to work 6 feet or more above ground as necessary.

• Compliance with wearing required personal protective equipment.
