
Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Act in a supervisory capacity during the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Westinghouse refueling and I&C equipment at operational nuclear power plants.
β’ Assist with outage activities related to reactor internals and other essential plant systems.
β’ Conduct technical reviews for the design and operation of fuel handling equipment, emphasizing ease of installation and maintainability.
β’ Aid in project and resource management as well as operational processes.
β’ Execute duties as a field service technician, service lead, and shift supervisor.
β’ Oversee field projects, which includes planning, scheduling, assigning crew tasks, customer engagement, and resolving technical conflicts.
β’ Direct field installation, equipment setup, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of refueling equipment at client locations.
β’ Offer design engineering support through design reviews, procedural evaluations, and preparation of installation documents for the field.
β’ Record equipment design and performance challenges during field deployment and ensure that corrective measures and lessons learned are executed.
β’ Assist manufacturing through equipment setup and testing, preparing mock-ups, and qualifying equipment and processes.
β’ Engage in factory equipment setup activities.
β’ Lead Factory Acceptance Testing alongside customers.
β’ Provide maintenance and operational training for customer equipment.
β’ Create training programs and lesson plans, delivering training to less experienced technicians.
β’ Adhere to ALARA principles and maintain a commitment to safety first.
β’ Offer technical guidance and direction to personnel in equivalent or lower classifications.
β’ Report to the Product Manager of ELA Outage and Maintenance Services.
β’ High school diploma or an equivalent recognized qualification.
β’ Minimum of 2 years of degree/certificate training or relevant field experience.
β’ Specialized knowledge and training in AC/DC electrical systems, motor controls, electronics, and mechanical systems.
β’ Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) ladder logic programming.
β’ Knowledge of various motor drives, including servo motor drives.
β’ Surpass all criteria for Level 1, 2, and 3 Technician position descriptions and critical skill qualifications.
β’ Over 6 years of relevant field and outage experience in leading field projects.
β’ Comply with Westinghouse and customer security protocols, unescorted access, and fitness-for-duty program requirements.
β’ Capability to occasionally carry or lift up to 50 pounds.
β’ Full range of motion is required, which includes reaching, climbing, kneeling, squatting, grasping, bending, sitting, and standing for a minimum of 4 hours per day.
β’ Successfully pass a Westinghouse physical, which includes a spirometer test for respirator use.
β’ Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time.
β’ Maintain Unescorted Access status.
β’ Ability to work with hazardous materials in a radiologically controlled environment within an operational nuclear power plant.
β’ Capacity to meet applicable United States export control requirements.
