Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute the installation and initial operational setup of equipment

• Conduct mechanical tasks within electrical substations

• Assess equipment, structures, and materials at specified locations to determine the root causes of errors, issues, or defects

• Service, repair, and adjust machinery that primarily operates on mechanical principles

• Analyze data and evaluate outcomes to choose the most effective solutions and address customer concerns

• Engage in physical activities requiring significant dexterity and agility

• Provide support to GE Factory Production and other GE divisions as necessary

• Operate man lifts and reach forklifts

• Oversee and guide contractors, customer personnel, and junior GE Field Technicians

• Accurately and promptly complete Field Service Reports, timecards, and expense reports

• Act as the liaison between GE and the client

• Install, commission, troubleshoot, repair/adjust, and modify GE high-voltage circuit breakers, disconnect switches, and capacitor banks

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Technology or a closely related discipline

• At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing, with a preference for field experience

• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% of the time within the US and internationally via air travel and car rental

• Preferred background in troubleshooting and repairing electrical control circuits

• Preferred experience in the mechanical assembly of circuit breakers

• Legally authorized to work in the United States

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable
