Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct installations and initial start-ups.

• Execute mechanical tasks in electrical substations.

• Assess equipment, structures, and materials at specified locations to determine the causes of errors, issues, or defects.

• Service, repair, and fine-tune equipment primarily based on mechanical principles.

• Analyze data and evaluate outcomes to identify solutions and address customer concerns.

• Engage in physically demanding tasks that require significant dexterity and agility.

• Provide support to GE Factory Production and other GE departments as necessary.

• Operate man lifts and reach forklifts.

• Oversee and guide contractors, customer personnel, and junior GE Field Technicians.

• Accurately and promptly complete Field Service Reports, timecards, and expense reports.

• Act as a liaison between GE and the customer.

• Install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and modify GE high-voltage circuit breakers, disconnect switches, and capacitor banks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Technology or a closely related field.

• At least 2 years of manufacturing experience, with a preference for field-related experience.

• Capability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics.

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% of the time domestically and internationally via air and car rental.

• Preferred experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical control circuits.

• Preferred experience in the mechanical assembly of circuit breakers.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.

• Competence in operating man lifts and reach forklifts.
