Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Install, assemble, service, and repair Aerzen products at both company and customer sites.

• Conduct startups, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on Aerzen products.

• Professionally represent Aerzen while adhering to company and customer safety protocols.

• Install, configure, calibrate, and maintain pneumatic, analog, and digital instrumentation.

• Set up and terminate electrical, pneumatic, and fluid connections.

• Comprehend controls narratives and troubleshoot process-application issues.

• Analyze and resolve TCP/IP network and RS-485 communication problems.

• Disassemble machines to assess damage, evaluate failures, diagnose issues, and identify root causes.

• Provide machine-based recommendations and utilize defined procedures and standard rebuild kits.

• Read and interpret equipment diagrams, checklists, engineering drawings, and process documentation.

• Communicate job requirements, recommendations, service options, concerns, and status updates effectively to customers.

• Assess customer future needs and relay information through appropriate channels.

• Support engineering with plant design, modifications, and hazard analyses.

• Plan and organize travel using the Concur booking tool.

• Complete service reports, expense reports, forms, written repair reports, and commissioning graphs.

• Provide customer training on Aerzen products at their locations.

• Uphold quality standards, safety procedures, and maintain a tidy work environment.

• Participate in inventory counts, shop organization, cleanup, and other assigned departmental responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate Degree (2 years of education) in electronics technology or equivalent experience.

• More than 4 years of field service and repair experience with rotating equipment.

• Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, and Internet applications.

• Knowledge of TCP/IP networks and RS-485 communications.

• Experience with Allen Bradley PLC is preferred.

• Familiarity with RS Logix 5000 is preferred.

• Desired experience in PLC or similar Ladder-Logic programming.

• Capability to interpret process flow, control wiring, and piping and instrumentation diagrams.

• Welding skills (brazing, cutting, welding, plasma) are a plus.

• Strong focus on customer service, leadership, and change management.

• High integrity and a compliance-oriented mindset.

• Willingness to travel more than 50% of the time.

• Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check.

• Must pass a drug test prior to commencing work.

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
