Field Service Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Receive, unpack, install, and commission analytical devices for metal production at customer locations.

• Ensure that installations and service tasks adhere to high standards of quality, safety, and schedule compliance.

• Implement DTE solutions and provide training for customer operators.

• Service, maintain, and repair installed solutions, including delivering remote technical support.

• Verify customer site readiness, encompassing power, utilities, access, lifting, and safety approvals.

• Participate in the on-call rotation for both remote and on-site assistance.

• Respond within established service commitments.

• Offer feedback to Product and Engineering teams to foster continuous improvement.

• Collaborate closely with customers during installation, start-up, and service visits.

• Configure equipment to align with operational requirements.

• Act as a primary point of contact throughout installation and maintenance processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Reside in the United States.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Over 3 years of experience in assembly, field service, or technical support roles involving electronic or industrial equipment.

• Knowledge of troubleshooting methodologies for automated control systems and logic.

• Strong analytical capabilities and a practical approach to problem-solving.

• Ability to engage hands-on with prototypes, including testing, troubleshooting, and product enhancements.

• Emphasis on safety, reliability, and quality.

• Capable of meeting customer site access requirements, which may include safety training, medical or drug screenings, and background checks.

• Comfortable working in hot, noisy casthouse environments, utilizing personal protective equipment and handling equipment components.

• Experience in metals, foundry, or other heavy industrial settings is advantageous.

• Electrical training, certification, or licensure is a plus.

• Strong proficiency in English communication; additional languages are a bonus.

• Must reside within a reasonable driving distance of a major airport.

• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% within the United States.

• Must already have authorization to work in the United States.

• A valid driver’s license and passport are required.
