Field Service Engineer – Multiple States

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +10 more states.

📋 Description

• Execute startup procedures, preventative maintenance, testing, repairs, and advanced electrical services on generator paralleling controls and switchgear systems.

• Manage warranty claims, remedial repairs, and preventative maintenance contracts within the designated territory.

• Provide on-call service support throughout the assigned area, requiring 75% travel.

• Assist and train both internal technicians and external customers in maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and equipment testing.

• Work in collaboration with the Product Support Center help desk to diagnose and resolve customer issues.

• Aid dealer service and sales teams in the promotion of products and services.

• Complete daily service reports and submit weekly expense reports.

• Keep precise project documentation.

• Remain updated on training for new and revised systems, technologies, and platforms.

• Collect feedback to discover opportunities for new products and enhancements.

• Assess manufacturing and production processes, identify defects, and suggest design modifications.

• Monitor, manage, and resolve product quality and performance challenges.

• Clearly communicate technical specifications and service instructions.

• Operate under the general supervision of the Regional Service Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET); alternatively, a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.

• At least 2 years of related experience or 4 years of equivalent experience is required.

• Proven experience working cross-functionally with engineers, contractors, consultants, and end users.

• Comprehensive knowledge of power systems, including switchgear, ATS, and generator systems.

• Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and blueprints.

• Experience with automation and controls, such as PLC-based systems, HMIs, and distributed control systems.

• PLC experience with one or more of Modicon/Schneider, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or GE.

• HMI experience is preferred, such as Rockwell FactoryTalk, Siemens, Vijeo, iFix, or Wonderware.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

• Capability to meet background, drug, and medical requirements.

• U.S. Navy Nuclear Power Electrician experience is highly preferred.

• Ability to pass a U.S. Government background check if Special Government Clearance is necessary.
