Field Service Engineer III – Lab Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Provide expert installation, maintenance, and repair services for advanced laboratory automation equipment, including robotic movers and microplate handling systems.

• Support dynamic scheduling software.

• Offer technical support to clients in research institutions, universities, and industrial facilities.

• Address complex hardware, software, and networking challenges.

• Perform preventive maintenance and calibration tasks.

• Train users and mentor colleagues as required.

• Establish and nurture strong customer relationships.

• Respond promptly to urgent customer requirements.

• Fulfill all necessary technical training and certification obligations.

• Travel up to 75% within the assigned territory, including Virginia, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

• Operate in laboratory and cleanroom settings while adhering to safety protocols.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or advanced degree in Electronics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related technical field, along with relevant technical experience.

• 7+ years of relevant technical experience with an Associate’s degree, 5+ years with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years with an advanced degree.

• Complete and uphold all company-mandated technical training and certifications.

• Experience in installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating advanced mechanical systems.

• Ability to independently troubleshoot low-voltage electronics and intricate electro-mechanical systems.

• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills across hardware, software, and networking issues.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation, schematics, and engineering drawings.

• Skilled with Windows operating systems, networking, and standard business software.

• Professional working proficiency in English.

• Capability to work autonomously and collaborate with a team.

• Ability to react swiftly to urgent customer demands.

• Capability to adhere to safety protocols and work in cleanroom environments when necessary.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate in laboratory settings.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, both now and in the future.

• Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check and drug screening.

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 75%.
