Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Conduct preventive and general maintenance on analytical and metallographic equipment

• Execute repairs, troubleshooting, and corrective measures for breakdowns

• Carry out installations of new instrumentation

• Implement updates and install upgrade kits

• Deliver training on theoretical concepts, operational procedures, software usage, and effective maintenance practices

• Develop and nurture customer relationships as a representative of the company

• Assist with service activities at client locations

• Keep precise records of inventory, expenses, and vehicle logs

• Travel across the Southwestern Region and adjacent areas as required

• Self-driven and responsible while working remotely with minimal oversight

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

• Comply with customer site protocols and safety regulations

• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills

• Participate in instrumentation training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan for a duration of 3–5 months

• Complete on-the-job training with seasoned field service engineers nationwide

• Attend annual service training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan

• Willingness to travel daily, including up to four overnight stays per week from Monday to Friday

• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Successfully pass a background check and substance abuse tests

• Authorized to work in the United States without restrictions

• Strong mechanical abilities

• Prior experience with AC and DC electronics is preferred, or a willingness to learn

• One or more of the following: a two-year technical degree, trade school background, previous military experience with technical training, or equivalent work experience or training in a technical field

• A background in chemistry or military service is advantageous, though not mandatory
