Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Conduct preventive and general maintenance, troubleshooting, breakdown repairs, and corrective actions for analytical and metallographic instruments.

• Execute installations of new instrumentation, along with updates and upgrade kit installations.

• Deliver training on operational theory, software usage, and effective maintenance practices.

• Foster and sustain customer relationships as a representative of the customer-facing team.

• Assist with service activities at customer sites.

• Keep precise records of inventory, expenses, and vehicle logs.

• Operate remotely with minimal oversight.

• Travel up to four nights or five days each week based on workload demands.

⛳️ Requirements

• Highly motivated and responsible when working remotely with limited supervision.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Comply with customer site protocols and safety regulations.

• Detail-oriented with robust organizational capabilities.

• Attend instrumentation training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan for a duration of 3–5 months.

• Complete field service training alongside experienced field service engineers across the nation.

• Participate in annual service training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan.

• Ability to travel daily, with up to four overnight hotel stays per week from Monday to Friday.

• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.

• Successfully pass a background check and substance abuse screenings.

• Authorized to work in the US without any restrictions.

• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Previous experience with AC and DC electronics is preferred, or the capability to learn.

• One or more of the following: a two-year technical degree, completion of trade school, prior military service with technical training, or equivalent work experience/training in a technical discipline.

• A background in chemistry or military experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
