Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

📋 Description

• Assist GEV engineers in generating signal lists from schematics and relevant documents.

• Aid in engineering and field service tasks related to protection relays, panel modifications, protection logic diagrams, GA/LA, bills of materials, purchasing requests, protection/SCMS/LCC schematics, SCMS/cybersecurity architectures, SCMS signal lists, cable schedules, control desk drawings, IEC61850 signal mapping, and other related deliverables.

• Support the production of documents, adequacy checks for CT/VT, and calculations for relay settings.

• Provide assistance for field service operations concerning substation automation systems, which include DCS/SCS, RTU, and cybersecurity measures.

• Contribute to the technical aspects of assigned projects, including EHS coordination, follow-up activities, and site work.

• Organize and document tests for digital inputs, controls, measurements, interlocks, IEC61850 IEDs, SCADA signals, and SCS functionalities.

• Aid in the installation of SCS systems at various locations, including fiber optic layout, panel PC setup, console wiring, installation, and testing procedures.

• Adhere to project planning to meet milestones in accordance with the project timeline.

• Manage workplace EHS concerns and ensure the availability of appropriate PPE for testing and commissioning teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Machine Power, Electrical Power, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, Control and Instrumentation, Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy, Electronics, Cybersecurity, or Artificial Intelligence, or a related field from an accredited university.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Preference will be given to qualified UAE National candidates in accordance with UAE localization policies.

• UAE Nationals who hold a Family Book are encouraged to submit their applications.

• Active listener with effective communication skills in both English and Arabic.

• Inquisitive and proactive, demonstrating a high level of integrity, strong analytical abilities, and a willingness to learn.
