Field Repair Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Diagnose and resolve issues with malfunctioning laboratory instruments or testing equipment.

• Evaluate mechanical systems and electronic circuits to determine the root causes of failures.

• Conduct hands-on repairs on malfunctioning laboratory instruments or testing devices.

• Inspect assemblies to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.

• Travel domestically and internationally for approximately 50% of the year to provide repair assistance to direct-market clients.

• Offer customer support via phone and email to address laboratory instrument problems.

• Follow up on ongoing customer inquiries and issues.

• Dispatch replacement parts, consult with the home office for further assistance, or execute on-site resolutions.

• Service and repair laboratory instruments for clients throughout North America.

⛳️ Requirements

• Recognized Electrical or Mechanical Qualification, along with an apprenticeship and 5 years of relevant work experience.

• Practical experience with technical equipment, ideally in a laboratory environment.

• Ability to read and interpret documents, instructions, and manuals proficiently.

• Demonstrate diplomacy and tact when reporting non-conforming events (NCE) to management promptly.

• Highly skilled in computer usage and typing within a Windows environment.

• Proficient with Microsoft applications and relevant CRM systems.

• Experience and capability for domestic and international travel.

• Clean driving record required.

• Willingness and capability to travel approximately 50% annually, both domestically and internationally.

• Must live within a reasonable driving distance of a major airport.
