Field Repair Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Diagnose and troubleshoot faulty lab instruments or testing equipment, examining mechanical mechanisms and electronic circuitry to identify the "root cause" of failures.

• Conduct hands-on repairs for defective lab instruments or testing devices.

• Evaluate assemblies to ensure they meet manufacturer specifications.

• Travel both domestically and internationally to provide repair assistance to direct market customers.

• Offer customers recommendations via phone and email to address lab instrument problems and follow up on ongoing concerns.

• Dispatch replacement parts, coordinate with the main office for further assistance, or carry out on-site resolutions.

• Primarily provide service to the West Coast while supporting customers throughout North America.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hold a recognized Electrical or Mechanical Qualification, accompanied by an apprenticeship and a minimum of 5 years of work experience.

• Possess experience working with technical equipment, preferably in a laboratory environment.

• Capable of reading and interpreting documents, instructions, and manuals.

• Demonstrate diplomacy and tact in reporting Non-Conforming Events (NCE) to management with urgency.

• Exhibit highly proficient computer skills, including typing, in a Windows environment along with Microsoft applications and relevant CRM systems.

• Have experience and the ability to travel domestically and internationally.

• Maintain a clean driving record.

• Applicants should reside within a reasonable driving distance of a major airport.

• Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 50% of the time annually.

• Capable of being away for up to a full week as needed.
