Field Property Claims Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Perform both virtual and on-site investigations at the homes of policyholders.

• Evaluate property damage, ascertain liability, gauge the extent of losses, and negotiate equitable settlements.

• Utilize claims management software, a company vehicle, and a laptop to assess damages and generate paperless estimates.

• Identify and document potential subrogation opportunities.

• Report incidents of theft, fraud, and arson to relevant state and industry authorities.

• Execute duties autonomously, directly influencing management results.

• Represent the company in a professional manner during public engagements.

• Interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and various other stakeholders.

• Negotiate settlements with policyholders to resolve claims.

• Advocate for safety and adhere to safety and ergonomic standards.

• Travel away from home for CAT deployments, typically lasting 2-3 weeks.

• Carry out essential tasks in both field and home office settings.

⛳️ Requirements

• A High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

• Strong customer service skills, preferably gained in a retail setting.

• Experience in construction or insurance is highly desirable and preferred.

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

• Proficient in computer applications: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Competent with smartphones and mobile applications.

• Willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage.

• Must possess a valid driver's license.

• Must be bondable.

• Final candidates will undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check.

• Must be capable of climbing ladders and working on rooftops multiple times daily.

• Must be able to work in small, confined spaces like attics and crawlspaces.

• Must achieve at least a passing score on all claims training assessments.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and entering information in English.

• Willing to participate in 1–3 CAT deployments each year.

• Must reside in Benson, NC, or in a nearby community within the assigned territory.
