Excess Claims Adjuster III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Oversee a caseload of General Liability/Excess Claims across various states.

• Handle new loss assignments, reassignments, and ensure accurate reserve setting.

• Conduct coverage analysis, manage defense responsibilities, indemnity tasks, and choice-of-law evaluations.

• Recognize issues that need resolution and determine effective methods, emphasizing risk transfer and beneficial outcomes.

• Prepare intricate coverage letters, which include reservations of rights, disclaimers, and responses to push-back communications.

• Formulate legal strategies with counsel and oversee GL/Excess litigation in line with established litigation protocols.

• Collaborate with both coverage and defense counsel.

• Select suitable cases for trial and complete pre-trial documentation and trial preparations.

• Employ artificial intelligence tools and resources, including generative AI.

• Report directly to the Claim Manager of the GL/Excess group.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5–10 years of preferred experience in GL/Excess Claims; candidates showcasing increasing responsibility in GL may be considered.

• A technical background focusing on identifying coverage issues and interpreting policies.

• Comprehensive understanding of liability policy language and coverage interpretation.

• Professional experience in a regulated environment.

• Capability to ensure adherence to company protocols.

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

• Experience drafting complex coverage letters, including reservations of rights, disclaimers, and responses to push-back letters.

• Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools and resources, including generative AI.
