This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee and implement essential power construction projects from start to finish.
• Act as the main point of contact for customers.
• Assist sales, operations, and service teams from the quoting stage to commissioning and customer approval.
• Set and monitor objectives for cost, quality, and scheduling.
• Offer technical guidance to sales, service teams, and subcontractors.
• Stay informed about building codes, OSHA regulations, environmental laws, project management practices, estimating, NFPA codes, and electrical standards.
• Organize, maintain, and revise project schedules while communicating any delays.
• Manage project budgets and keep costs within projected limits.
• Facilitate communication and documentation between the company and its clients.
• Supervise subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with contracts and specifications.
• Conduct site visits for quoting and pre- and post-job assessments.
• Analyze customer specifications and bid documents, and prepare change orders as needed.
• Implement contingency planning and decision-making throughout project execution.
• Provide order information to Customer Service Representatives.
• Develop and manage project action-item lists.
• Direct employees and subcontractors as required.
• Keep precise as-built documentation and punch lists.
• Track and report on project costs, gross profit, and performance indicators.
• Relay market insights to Critical Power management.
• Manage business expenses in accordance with company policies.
• Meet safety, scheduling, budget, and cost-variance performance objectives.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• A High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment testing where applicable.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a must.
• A Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or at least 10 years of experience in field service, project management, and/or proposal generation with critical power distribution systems is necessary.
• Experience in managing construction projects in California under a General Contractor license is required.
• Active California General Contractor Class B license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire is essential.
• 5+ years of experience in construction project management with field experience is preferred.
• Experience in a telecom or general contracting environment is advantageous.
• Familiarity with CSLB requirements and compliance is necessary.
• Experience with permitting and inspections in California jurisdictions is required.
• Proficient understanding of IEEE, NERC/FERC, NESC, NEC, and GR1275 standards.
• 5+ years of management experience demonstrating financial success is needed.
• OSHA 30 and NFPA certification are required.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities are essential.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse individuals and across remote offices.
• Excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers, along with strong listening capabilities.
• Ability to foster and maintain workplace relationships focused on customer satisfaction.
• Proficient in cross-departmental collaboration.
• Adaptability to a rapidly changing work environment is required.
• Experience with ERP process flow is beneficial.
• Ability to set achievable service goals across various markets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%, including overnight stays and possibly evenings or weekends.
• Ability to meet physical demands, such as sitting or standing for up to 8 hours and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
