Field Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +9 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee and implement customer installation operations within established project timelines.

• Confirm that the entire system is functional and ready for software implementation.

• Conduct software upgrades, system enhancements, data backup/restoration, and troubleshooting tasks.

• Grasp public safety customer environments to guarantee product security and dependability.

• Utilize software and IP networking expertise to resolve issues.

• Provide solutions that are in line with existing products, standard interfaces, and set procedures.

• Adhere to corporate policies and complete necessary training, including CJIS compliance.

• Precisely record billable project hours.

• Install on-premise hardware and equipment for governmental and municipal projects.

• Travel 50%-75% based on project and business requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, IT, Software Engineering, or Technology, or at least 5 years of experience in deploying and integrating complex IP products and systems.

• Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely.

• Employer sponsorship for work permits is not available.

• Demonstrated experience in installing, managing, and troubleshooting VMware ESXi v.7+ and/or Red Hat OpenShift.

• Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and later versions.

• Proficient with Windows Server 2019 and later versions.

• Experience with Windows 10 & 11 and Linux operating systems.

• Knowledge of LAN switches; HP Arista experience is an advantage.

• Experience with SAN; familiarity with HPE Alletra and Nimble is a plus.

• Basic understanding of firewalls and routers; Fortinet Fortigate experience is a bonus.

• Experience with server and workstation hardware; HPE compute hardware experience is an asset.

• Proficient in Windows Active Directory administration, including GPO and DNS.

• TeamCity experience is a plus.

• Previous experience in deploying, integrating, operating, or administering Public Safety Applications.

• Capability to pass a stringent fingerprint background check for CJIS-regulated high-security areas.

• Willingness to travel 50%-75% of the time.

• Preferred residence within the Central or Mountain time zone.
