Field Chief Technology Officer – Field CTO

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Serve as a trusted technical consultant to C-level executives at Fortune 500 organizations.

• Communicate the strategic advantages of high-performance object storage for AI readiness and data accessibility.

• Create and validate sophisticated, large-scale architectures for enterprise clients.

• Facilitate the integration of MinIO into AI/ML pipelines and modern data lakehouse frameworks.

• Represent MinIO at industry conferences, webinars, and networking events.

• Author technical whitepapers, reference architectures, and blog articles regarding object storage, generative AI, and contemporary analytics.

• Collaborate with enterprise sales and customer success teams on critical deals.

• Address technical concerns and offer strategic advice during Proofs of Concept and large-scale implementations.

• Act as the customer advocate for MinIO's product and engineering teams.

• Synthesize market trends, customer challenges, and emerging AI/Analytics patterns into actionable product specifications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in technical leadership positions (e.g., Enterprise Architect, Chief Architect, VP of Engineering, or prior Field CTO).

• Proven experience in a customer-facing or evangelist role, effectively presenting to both highly technical audiences and C-level business leaders.

• Extensive architectural knowledge of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows and vector databases (e.g., Milvus, Qdrant, Pinecone).

• Strong understanding of AI/ML data pipelines and frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Ray, Hugging Face).

• Insight into hardware limitations in AI, particularly GPU data starvation and high-throughput storage solutions.

• Expertise in Open Table Formats (Apache Iceberg, Apache Hudi, Delta Lake) and their integration with object storage.

• Skilled in modern query engines and compute frameworks (Trino, Presto, Apache Spark, Flink, StarRocks).

• Comprehensive knowledge of Data Lakehouse architectures and the transition from traditional data warehouses.

• Strong proficiency in Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud-native orchestration.

• In-depth understanding of the AWS S3 API, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems design.
