Field Applications Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct training sessions for customers on HID products, applications, and workflows through both on-site and remote formats.

• Offer technical and application support by troubleshooting customer workflows, addressing technical inquiries, and resolving product performance issues.

• Assist in pre-sales initiatives by providing technical consultations, product demonstrations, presentations, and discussions on workflows.

• Deliver post-sales application support to ensure the successful implementation, adoption, and optimization of HID technologies.

• Collaborate with Sales and commercial teams throughout the entire customer lifecycle.

• Work closely with Technical Support, Service, Product Management, and other internal teams to meet customer needs.

• Stay updated on HID products, applications, workflows, and advancements in forensic science and human identification.

• Record customer activities and relay field and customer insights to internal teams.

• Travel across Western North America for customer-facing interactions.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in forensic science, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, or a related scientific field is required.

• Over 5 years of relevant experience, or 3 years with an advanced degree, in forensic DNA workflows or a similar technical position, including hands-on laboratory work.

• Proven expertise with forensic DNA instrumentation, chemistries, and analysis software.

• Excellent technical and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Exceptional customer-facing, presentation, and training abilities.

• Capacity to independently manage various customer priorities in a remote, field-based setting.

• Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 70% of the time.

• Must reside in California, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, or Nevada.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.

• Capable of passing a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening.
