Field Applications Engineer – FAE

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Identify, influence, and facilitate the adoption of Altera FPGA-based solutions at key customer accounts.

• Collaborate with Field Sales Engineers, FAEs, Factory Applications Engineers, Product Marketing, and Business Development teams.

• Cultivate relationships with customer engineering teams to discover and expand new opportunities.

• Leverage extensive knowledge of the FPGA product portfolio to drive sales and foster growth.

• Communicate Altera FPGA value propositions relevant to customer applications.

• Assist customers with defining architecture, evaluating solutions, and designing and implementing projects using FPGAs, IP, and development tools.

• Develop and present product demonstrations.

• Engage in on-site customer visits for product design discussions and reviews.

• Resolve technical challenges and ensure customer satisfaction.

• Analyze data to diagnose issues, replicate errors, and resolve or escalate problems as needed.

• Provide feedback to manufacturing and product teams regarding product issues, requirements, and market trends.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a hardware engineer.

• Proficiency in FPGA, ASIC, and/or digital design.

• Familiarity with FPGA development tools, including Quartus and Vivado.

• Experience with VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog, OpenCL, or high-level synthesis tools (HLS).

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related electrical/electronic field.

• Candidates must be eligible for any necessary U.S. export authorizations.
