Field Applications Engineer – FAE

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Identify, influence, and facilitate the adoption of Altera FPGA-based solutions at key customer accounts.

• Collaborate with Field Sales Engineers, FAEs, Factory Applications Engineers, Product Marketing, and Business Development teams.

• Cultivate relationships with customer engineering teams to recognize, develop, and expand opportunities.

• Utilize extensive knowledge of the FPGA product portfolio to drive sales in established product lines and emerging markets.

• Clearly articulate the value proposition of Altera FPGAs for specific customer applications.

• Assist customers in defining architecture, evaluating solutions, and designing and implementing using FPGAs, IP, and development tools.

• Create and present product demonstrations.

• Engage in on-site customer visits to support product design and reviews.

• Ensure that customer requirements are satisfied throughout the design process.

• Enable prompt resolution of technical issues while maintaining customer satisfaction.

• Analyze data to diagnose problems, reproduce errors, and resolve or escalate customer concerns.

• Provide insights to manufacturing and product teams regarding product issues, future requirements, and market trends.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a hardware engineer.

• Proficiency in FPGA, ASIC, and/or digital design.

• Experience with FPGA development tools such as Quartus and Vivado.

• Familiarity with VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog, OpenCL, or high-level synthesis tools (HLS).

• A BSEE or a related degree in electrical/electronic engineering.

• Candidates must be eligible for any necessary U.S. export authorizations.

• Post Bachelor’s degree is a plus (ways to stand out).

• Experience in technical sales, applications, technical marketing, or technical product marketing is a plus (ways to stand out).

• Additional industry experience in embedded SoC design, ASIC, ASSP, CPU, microcontrollers, microprocessor architecture, ARM-based processor solutions, board-level design, DSP, signal integrity, or related fields is a plus (ways to stand out).
