Field Application Specialist – Flow Cytometry, Hematology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Offer specialized advice and application support to both current and potential customers regarding flow cytometry analyzers, reagents, and software utilized in clinical research and routine diagnostics.

• Conduct demonstrations of instruments and reagents, provide customer training, and perform workflow assessments.

• Assist customers with sample preparation, instrument operation, and data analysis.

• Collaborate closely with sales team members to grasp customer requirements, showcase the value of solutions, and promote business growth.

• Aid customers in implementing new applications and work with service colleagues to resolve application and performance challenges.

• Support and nurture channel partners through application guidance, product demonstrations, and technical training across African nations.

• Represent Beckman Coulter Life Sciences at trade shows, scientific conferences, and workshops.

• Relay customer feedback and market insights to internal teams to enhance customer support and identify areas for improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in biology, biomedical sciences, medical laboratory sciences, medicine, chemistry, physics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional training.

• Multiple years of hands-on experience in flow cytometry and/or hematology, acquired in a laboratory, clinical, research, or application support setting.

• For candidates with flow cytometry expertise, practical familiarity with multicolor flow cytometry, sample preparation, and data analysis.

• Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, analyzer operation, troubleshooting, and interpretation of laboratory results for those primarily experienced in hematology.

• Experience in immunology, customer training, or technical application support will be considered advantageous.

• Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of clearly articulating scientific concepts to various audiences.

• A collaborative, customer-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.

• Residing in Johannesburg or Centurion, South Africa, with easy access to an international airport.

• Willing to travel nationally and internationally up to 70% of the time.

• Possession of a valid category B driver’s license.
